I have been married to the love of my life for 35 years. I am recently retired as the US Manager of Email Support at Homeaway.com/VRBO.com and am also a recent “empty nester”. I love to travel, read, write, go to yard sales and meet new people. My constant companion is my little yorkie named Bebe! I am looking forward to discovering our next new adventure!

I like your entry on your home page about ‘new normal.’ My world turned on its head just about 2 weeks before Christmas, and even prior to that it was pretty unorthodox for a variety of historical reasons. New normal, which I achieved a little over 4 weeks ago? Well, it’s more orthodox, yes, but I will never say that the mad five years before were a big mistake. It was an adventure, forced on me admittedly, and I just had to roll with it. Now? I can look back on the toughest five years of my life and say, ‘Well, at least I did it. I never gave up.’
Exactly! We wouldn’t be who we are without those experiences….welcome to the club!
I know a few people who have unfortunately been knocked down by that club.
😀
I had friends say to me, before things began to re-stabilise a little while ago, ‘How the hell do you live like that?’
Answer. ‘The alternative to living is a lot worse worse.’
